Due to the practice of swapping used transmissions from variant model years as an economical solution to a bad transmission, many Fiat 124 Spiders do not have their specific model year transmission.
Beginning in model year 1974, Fiat Spider transmissions came with the larger input seal of 48.6mm OD (available as PN 40002180, 48.6x28x8, if needed).
