This is a complete SOHC 1300 cylinder head assembly ready to bolt on. This particular head is Fiat Part Number 4315419, supplied on 1974-early 1977 X1/9s.
It contains four air injection ports equally spaced between the spark plugs. If you have a Late 1977-78 car with EGR emissions, you'll want cylinder head PN 4388928.
If you are not concerned about emissions plumbing, this head will fit any 1300 or 1500 Fiat or Bertone X1/9 from 74-80. No junk here, check out the multiple pictures!
We start with a very good condition 1300 head, with all threads / stud holes intact, and clean coolant passages absent of corrosion or enlarged openings. All spark plug and coolant sensor holes have clean threads, and we replace any valve guide whose measurements are out of spec.
We mill the head a minimum amount to ensure straightness while leave a good strong platform. We also mill the cam box surface a minimal amount to prevent annoying cam-box oil leaks. We replace valve guides if they are out of spec. Then we clean up the valve seats, install new intake and exhaust valves with professional seat and valve dressing. We finish it with new valve springs, stem seals and stock retainers.
Good 1300 heads are getting very difficult to find. Because there are so many possible problems that can be encountered with used aluminum heads, this is an outright sale, and we do not accept cores for a discount or credit. If you can find a fully reconditioned 1300 aluminum head cheaper, they are cutting corners somewhere!
